This particular Barossa Valley Shiraz style is what the Barossa is world famous for, it is robust and full-bodied with smooth and rich notes of freshly ground coffee, black olive, dark plum and mocha. The rounded and voluptuous tannins lead into a fine, long finish.
Sir Ian Botham Barossa Valley Single Vineyard Shiraz
Lord Botham has made his Barossa Valley Shiraz in the style that the Barossa is world famous for, it is robust and full-bodied with a firm yet fine tannin finish.
The Shiraz had an intense colour which is an attractive deep ruby purple. On the nose it is rich plum, complex mocha – chocolate and spicy fruit with integrated light vanilla oak and a hint of anise, are all subtly combined. The nose shows great depth and concentration of fruit and the benefit of extended maturation pre-release.
Drinking well now but this will evolve beautifully over the next 5-8 years. Decant before serving.
