Nestled in the beautiful region of Les Arcs, Provence, the 13th century Château is one of eighteen prestigious Provence Cru Classé estates.
The 110 hectares of clay and limestone vineyards are maintained with the least amount of intervention, to encourage a wide variety of natural flora and fauna. Green harvesting helps to maintain quality and concentration in the grapes and foliage is carefully pruned to ensure maximum sun exposure. Grapes are harvested at night, from the end of August to the end of September.
Winemaker Marco Bealessio celebrates the vintage thanks to a warm and sunny July followed by light August rains that allowed grapes to reach ideal level of sugar and acidity. “2019 brought balance, finesse and stunning freshness to the blend.”
Grapes are pressed gently with pneumatic presses to keep the tannins supple. The must is then settled to give a clear juice prior to alcoholic fermentation. Temperatures are kept at 1618°C throughout fermentation, which takes 10 to 14 days. After this stage the wine is drawn from coarse lees then refrigerated.
